Such a furor when Steve Jobs of Apple Computer announced the brand new iMac, (G3, “i” for internet), computer back in 2000, without a 3 1/2″ floppy drive. How on earth could we survive without a floppy and depend on the internet for everything? Little did we know what a visionary Steve Jobs was. Now everything is “i”. iPhone, iPod, iPad, iEye … (just checking;)), and how it’s changed everything that we do.
Dee is a new convert to the iPhone. Flicking and slipping and gliding her way across the iPhone screen. I am not sure how well this trip would have gone without her iPhone or my Garmin GPS. As we approached Crossville, TN, last night and made ready for our nights’ stay, Dee flicked her finger across her iPhone for the nearest Hampton Inn. “Would you like to download our Hampton Inn App?” An intrusive message appeared on her screen out of the blue. (It’s like magic). Within minutes we had our hotel, could check price and availability and make a booking.
We could even check our progress shown as a pulsating, blue dot, on a map as TIC wiggled from one lane to the next on her progress. Don’t ever rob a bank. The i’s are all seeing.
Sure beats the crank start.
